MOSCOW, Nov 14 (Reuters) - Russia intends to issue operation and maintenance licences this year for two of the six reactors at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant in Ukraine, a senior nuclear official said on Friday.
Alexei Likhachev, CEO of state nuclear corporation Rosatom, said the licences would be granted "to extend the operation and maintenance of the units".
Russian forces took control of the plant in the early weeks of the war in 2022. The reactors are currently in shutdown mode, meaning none of them are producing electricity.
