US Plains HRW Wheat-Basis bids flat as futures firm

CHICAGO, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Basis bids remained steady for hard red winter wheat at grain elevators in the southern U.S. Plains on Monday as futures rose.

• K.C. December hard red winter wheat KWZ25 ended up 7-3/4 cents at $5.27 a bushel.

• Forecaster Commodity Weather Group showed drier weather in the southern U.S. Plains in the next 1-5 days.

• Rains have slowed wheat plantings in Kansas, and some farmers estimated that plantings will be the same or lower than last year, according to producers' group Kansas Wheat.

• The U.S. Department of Agriculture has stopped publishing weekly crop progress data during the federal government's shutdown, pausing updates for winter wheat planting progress and crop conditions.
