US Plains HRW Wheat-Wheat basis unchanged in muted trade

ReutersNov 4, 2025 6:28 PM

- Basis bids for hard red winter (HRW) were flat in the U.S. Plains on Tuesday as farmers focused on planting the rest of the 2026 winter wheat crop.

  • Analysts on average estimated U.S. winter wheat planting as 91% complete, up from last week's average trade estimate of 84%.

  • Analysts on average rated 52% of the winter wheat crop in good to excellent condition, although estimates gathered from six analysts varied widely from 41% to 60% good-to-excellent.

  • Roughly one-third of the U.S. winter wheat crop is still too dry, an analyst note said.

  • K.C. December hard red winter wheat KWZ25 last fell 1/4 cent to $5.31-1/2 per bushel.
