US Cash Grains-Corn, soy bids steady-higher as futures rise

CHICAGO, Oct 31 (Reuters) - Corn and soy bids were steady to higher in the U.S. Midwest on Friday, dealers reported.

• The corn basis ticked higher at a river terminal.

• The soy basis rose at a river terminal and an elevator.

• U.S. corn harvesting was winding down amid talk that crop yields fell short of summertime expectations.

• Most-active soybean futures Sv1 ended 7-1/2 cents higher at $11.15-1/4 per bushel.

• CBOT corn Cv1 rose 1-1/4 cent to close at $4.31-1/2 per bushel. The contract jumped about 1.9% for the week.
