US Plains HRW Wheat-Wheat basis steady in quiet trade

ReutersOct 31, 2025 6:05 PM

- Basis bids for hard red winter (HRW) wheat were unchanged in the U.S. Plains on Friday as trade was quiet, dealers said.

  • Roughly one-third of wheat is too dry in the U.S. Plains. Dryness is expected to expand.

  • Farmers are well into planting the 2026 winter wheat crop.

  • Wheat futures fell on profit-taking and spillover weakness from soybeans.

  • K.C. December hard red winter wheat KWZ25 were last up 5-3/4 cents to $5.56-1/4 per bushel.
