US Cash Grains-Soybean, corn basis steady-higher

CHICAGO, Oct 31 (Reuters) - Basis bids for soybeans and corn were steady to higher in the U.S. Midwest on Friday as farmers sold off some crops, though futures took a tumble.

• Soy basis bids rose at an Iowa river terminal and were steady elsewhere.

• Corn basis bids were higher at two river terminals.

• Chicago soybean futures rose more than 10% in October, their biggest monthly gain in nearly four years, after U.S. President Donald Trump's administration said Beijing had agreed to boost purchases of U.S. soybeans as part of a trade truce.

• Profit-taking has since dented corn and soybean futures.

• Chicago Board of Trade December corn CZ25 was last down 1-3/4 cents at $4.28-1/2 per bushel.

• CBOT November soybean futures SX25 were last down 1 cent at $10.90-1/4 per bushel.
