US Cash Crude-Grades mixed even as EIA data shows fall in US crude stocks

- U.S. crude grades were mixed on Wednesday, dealers said, even as data showed U.S. crude and fuel inventories were drawn down more than expected last week.

WTI Midland eased 10 cents, while WTI at East Houston, also known as MEH, was unchanged.

Mars Sour eased 15 cents amid a partial shutdown of the Al-Zour refinery in Kuwait.

U.S. crude oil, gasoline and distillate fuel stockpiles each fell more last week than analysts had expected, data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration showed on Wednesday. On the refining side, Phillips 66 plans to operate its refineries in the low-to-mid 90% range in the fourth quarter, Chief Financial Officer Kevin Mitchell said on Wednesday during a conference call with analysts.

U.S. oil refiners are expected to have about 981,000 barrels per day of capacity offline in the week ending October 31, increasing available refining capacity by 111,000 bpd, research company IIR Energy said on Wednesday.

  • WTI at East Houston, also known as MEH, traded between a premium of 65 cents and $1.05 a barrel to U.S. crude futures CLc1

  • ICE Brent December futures LCOc1 rose 52 cents to settle at $64.92 a barrel on Wednesday​

  • WTI December crude CLc1 futures rose 33 cents to settle at $60.48 a barrel on Wednesday​

  • The Brent/WTI spread widened 18 cents to last trade at minus $4.43, after hitting a high of minus $4.21 and a low of minus $4.48.
