CHICAGO, Oct 28 (Reuters) - Spot cash soybean basis bids were higher and corn bids were mixed on Tuesday as some farmers took advantage of a price bounce to sell.
The soybean basis rose at two river terminals.
The corn basis fell at an Iowa processor and Indiana ethanol plant and rose at an Iowa river terminal.
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday the U.S. and China were set to "come away with" a trade deal, while Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told NBC on Sunday that China would make "substantial" soybean purchases under a proposed framework.
Broader market optimism over trade talks has caused a bounce in commodity prices.
The U.S. soybean harvest was 84% complete as of Sunday and the corn harvest was 72% finished, according to a Reuters poll of 10 analysts on Monday.
Chicago Board of Trade most-active corn futures Cv1 were last up 6-1/4 cents to $4.35 per bushel as of midday.
Most-active soybean futures Sv1 were up 19 cents to $10.86-1/2 a bushel.
