Ukraine allocates $200 million via emergency funding for gas imports before winter

Oct 23 (Reuters) - Ukraine's government has allocated $200 million in emergency aid to the state-owned energy firm Naftogaz for gas imports amid Russian attacks on the Ukrainian gas sector, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said on Thursday.
Russia has sharply increased the number and intensity of attacks on the Ukrainian energy system in recent weeks, targeting both power plants and gas facilities.
