Oct 23 (Reuters) - U.S. refiner Valero Energy VLO.N reported a rise in third-quarter profit on Thursday, helped by a rebound in refining margins.
The company, which kicked off the earnings season for U.S. refiners, said its net income was $1.1 billion, or $3.53 per share, for the three months ended September 30, compared with $364 million, or $1.14 per share, a year earlier.
