CARACAS, Oct 22 (Reuters) - Venezuela's oil minister Delcy Rodriguez said on Wednesday Trinidad and Tobago must pay for any natural gas to be supplied by Venezuela, following a U.S. license recently granted to negotiate a joint offshore project close to the maritime border.
The authorization, issued by the U.S. Treasury Department earlier this month following a meeting between U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trinidad's Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, allows companies in Trinidad and Venezuela to negotiate the project through April 2026, but also mandates that U.S. companies must be included.
