INTEREST RATES
Poland's central bank cut its main interest rate by another 25 basis points to 4.50% on Wednesday after inflation eased further, wage growth slowed, and the government extended a freeze on energy prices until the end of the year.
On Thursday at 1300 National Bank of Poland Governor, Adam Glapiński, will hold a press conference to explain the decision to cut credit costs.
BUDGET
On Thursday, the Polish parliament will discuss the draft budget act for 2026, which projects next year's deficit to be nearly 272 billion zlotys ($74.47 billion).
Lawmakers will also consider a draft law to increase the tax rate for banks from the current 19% to 30% in 2026, 26% in 2027, and ultimately 23% from 2028.
AI FACTORY
Polish technology companies, along with industry organizations from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, are urging their governments to support the idea of building a joint AI gigafactory in this part of Europe, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
