Oct 8 (Reuters) - Silver soared to a record high on Wednesday, riding the coattails of gold's unprecedented rally above the $4,000/oz level earlier in the session.
Spot silver XAG= was up 3.5% at $49.54 per ounce by 1611 GMT.
