WICKLOW, Ireland Oct 2 (Reuters) - EU Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic said on Thursday he sent a letter this week to the U.S. administration with suggestions on how to resolve steel and aluminium trade issues, and also spoke to his counterparts in Washington about the difficulties the industry faces.
"I put on the table again the idea of having the ring fence approach towards protecting our steel industry from overcapacity flooding the European market as we speak, and that on that basis we could resume the discussions we already had," Sefcovic told reporters in Ireland.
