US Cash Grains-Corn basis bids flat-up as farmers focus on harvesting

Sept 29 (Reuters) - Corn basis bids were mostly flat to up at grain elevators and processors in the U.S. Midwest on Monday as farmers focused on their harvests, brokers said.

• The corn basis edged up at an elevator in Cincinnati, Ohio; a processor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and an ethanol plant in Annawan, Illinois.

• U.S. farmers were expected to make progress on their corn and soy harvests this week due to warm, dry weather, brokers said.

• While new supplies were coming in from the fields, farmers have been generally reluctant to book sales because of low prices.

• The U.S. Department of Agriculture is slated to issue an update on harvesting progress in a weekly report due at 3 p.m. CDT (2000 GMT).

• Corn Cv1 and soybean Sv1 futures were nearly flat at the Chicago Board of Trade.
