US Cash Grains-Corn basis bids steady to weaker

Sept 25 (Reuters) - Corn basis bids were steady to down at elevators and processors and mixed at river terminals in a spot check of locations on Thursday.

Soybean basis bids were mixed at processors and steady to down at river terminals.

• The corn basis fell at a Cincinnati, Ohio, elevator and a processor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

• The soybean basis rose at the Cedar Rapids processor and fell at another in Lafayette, Indiana.

• U.S. farmers have begun the early stages of the corn and soybean harvests, aided by a drier weather pattern in the Midwest crop belt.

• Chicago soybeans traded near flat on Thursday as the ending of an Argentine export tax waiver helped prices edge away from a six-week low fueled by a flurry of Chinese purchases of Argentine crop. GRA/ Corn bounced back on reports of smaller-than-expected U.S. yields.
