CBOT soybeans close slightly higher in rebound from six-week low

ReutersSep 23, 2025 7:06 PM

- Chicago Board of Trade soybean futures ended slightly higher on Tuesday as the market recovered after setting a six-week low.

  • The market had become oversold and was due for a bounce, traders said.

  • A lack of demand from China continued to hang over the market.

  • Chinese buyers booked at least 10 cargoes of Argentine soybeans after Buenos Aires scrapped grain export taxes, three traders said.

  • China, by far the world's largest soy importer, has yet to book any of the current U.S. soybean crop during its trade war with Washington. Chinese buyers have instead turned to South American supplies.

  • CBOT November soybeans SX25 settled 1 cent higher at $10.12 per bushel.

  • The most-active contract Sv1 dropped earlier to $10.05 a bushel, its lowest level since August 12.

  • CBOT December soymeal SMZ25 ended $2.80 lower at $277.30 per short ton, and December soyoil BOZ25 rose 0.19 cent to 49.88 cents per pound.
