CHICAGO, Sept 22 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures fell to contract lows on Monday on expectations of ample global supplies and technical trading.
CBOT December soft red winter wheat WZ25 settled 11-3/4 cents lower at $5.10-3/4 per bushel.
K.C. December hard red winter wheat KWZ25 ended down 5 cents at $5.02-1/4 a bushel and Minneapolis December spring wheat MWEZ25 fell 3-1/4 cents to settle at $5.64 a bushel.
Rains through Thursday are expected to aid southern Midwest and Delta soft wheat, according to Commodity Weather Group.
Farmers continue to seed the winter wheat crop that will be harvested in 2026. Analysts on average expected the USDA to report winter wheat planting as 22% complete, up from 11% by September 14.
For the 2025 spring wheat crop, analysts on average expected the government to report the harvest as 97% complete, up from 94% a week earlier.
