US Cash Grains-Corn basis bids flat to lower at river terminals

Sept 16 (Reuters) - Basis bids for corn and soybeans were mostly steady to lower at river terminals in a spot check of locations around the U.S. Midwest on Tuesday.

• The corn basis fell at river terminals in Toledo, Ohio and Davenport, Iowa. It rose at an elevator in Cincinnati, Ohio.

• The soybean basis fell at a river terminal in Toledo, Ohio.

• On the Chicago Board of Trade, Chicago Board of Trade soybean futures ended higher on Tuesday, supported by optimism about U.S. trade talks with China, the world's largest soy buyer, tied to news that U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping will speak by phone on Friday.

• Corn futures hit their highest level in more than two months, buoyed by a weaker dollar and uncertainty about the size of the U.S. crop, traders said.
