Aug 20 - (The Insurer) - Axa XL has expanded its Americas energy transition underwriting team with the hire of industry veteran Eric Judd as executive underwriter in New York.
Judd, who has over three decades of experience in the insurance and energy sectors, previously held senior roles at Zurich North America, Liberty International Underwriters and Starr Insurance. He also worked as a broker with Aon and began his career as a field engineer with IRI.
Katherine Gerber, Axa XL’s head of energy transition, said the appointment reflects the company’s push to strengthen its capabilities in supporting clients facing increasingly complex risks.
"Eric brings extensive energy underwriting expertise and a deep understanding of the sector. Our capabilities and commitment to helping clients address energy risks has been well received, and having Eric onboard only strengthens our ability in helping clients navigate through complex risks," Gerber said.
Maria Duhhart, the carrier’s East zone leader, added that Judd’s arrival underscores Axa XL’s broader strategy of tailoring solutions to clients managing energy transition challenges.
"As part of a team that supports companies in addressing their multiline insurance needs, Eric's expertise highlights Axa XL's commitment to delivering innovative solutions tailored to not only our energy clients' evolving insurance demands but other clients looking to address their need in developing affordable energy resources,” she said.
Axa XL offers an array of insurance products to companies operating in the energy transition space, including property, construction and liability.
