Valero Port Arthur, Texas refinery FCCU shut by upset, sources say
HOUSTON, Aug 13 (Reuters) - Production on the gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit (FCCU) was shut by a malfunction at Valero Energy's VLO.N 380,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) Port Arthur, Texas refinery, people familiar with plant operations said on Wednesday.
The 75,000-bpd FCCU uses a catalyst under high heat and pressure to convert gas oil into unfinished gasoline.
