SAO PAULO, July 31 (Reuters) - Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin said on Thursday the government will work to convince the U.S. to lower tariffs on Brazilian coffee exports, which were hit by a steep increase to 50% from 10%.
Speaking on TV Globo's "Mais Voce" morning show, Alckmin confirmed that 35.9% of Brazil's total exports to the U.S. will face the higher tariff, as previously reported by Reuters.
