CHICAGO, July 28 (Reuters) - Basis bids for corn and soybeans were mostly steady to weaker at elevators and processors in the U.S. Midwest on Monday, but soybean basis bids were steady to higher at some river terminals.
The soybean basis fell by 10 cents at a processor in Decatur, Indiana, but held steady elsewhere.
The corn basis fell 4 cents at an elevator in Cincinnati, Ohio and 2 cents at a processor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The soybean basis rose 3 cents each at river terminals in Seneca, Illinois and Davenport, Iowa.
The Midwest experienced above-normal temperatures and periodic showers last week and to start this week, with warm nights raising concerns about crop stress for corn. But, cooler temperatures are expected by the middle of this week, forecasters said.
Benign weather and strong U.S. crop prospects weighed on futures on the Chicago Board of Trade. As of 12:31 a.m. CDT (1731 GMT), CBOT September corn futures CU25 were down 5-3/4 cents at $3.93-3/4 a bushel and new-crop December corn CZ25 was down 4-3/4 cents at $4.14-1/4 a bushel.
CBOT August soybeans SQ25 were down 8-1/4 cents at $9.90-1/2 a bushel and the new-crop November contract SX25 was down 7-1/2 cents at $10.13-1/2.
