US Cash Grains-Corn bids steady-mixed

CHICAGO, July 7 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn were steady to higher at ethanol plants and steady to lower at other kinds of processors in the U.S. Midwest on Monday as futures sagged, a spot check of locations showed.

• The corn basis ticked up at an ethanol plant in Union City, Indiana.

• The corn basis fell at a processor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

• Chicago Board of Trade grain and soybean futures slid on Monday on forecasts for favorable U.S. crop weather, traders said.GRA/

• Rain benefited the U.S. Plains and western Midwest, and boosted soil moisture in Iowa, according to weather firm Vaisala. Temperatures will be near normal in most areas this week, the firm said, favoring corn crops during the critical pollination period of development.

• Chicago Board of Trade December corn futures CZ25 fell 16-1/2 cents to $4.20-1/2 per bushel near midday. CBOT November soy futures SX25 plummeted 30-3/4 cents to $10.18-1/2 per bushel.
