US Cash Grains-Corn, soybean bids steady-higher

ReutersJul 3, 2025 5:12 PM

- Spot basis bids for soybeans and corn were flat to higher in the U.S. Midwest on Thursday as dealers tried to persuade farmers to sell after futures sagged earlier in the week.

  • The soy basis ticked up at processors in Lafayette, Indiana, Council Bluffs, Iowa and Lincoln, Nebraska.

  • It also rose at a river terminal in Davenport, Iowa.

  • The corn basis moved higher at the Davenport river terminal and a Cincinnati, Ohio grain elevator.

  • A mix of showers and warm weather is set to continue in the U.S. Midwest, and traders currently see limited weather threats to crops. That sent corn and soy futures lower earlier in the week, though they received support from bargain buying on Thursday.

  • Chicago Board of Trade December corn futures CZ25 rose 4-1/2 cents to $4.38 per bushel near midday. CBOT November soy futures SX25 rose 3-3/4 cents to $10.51-3/4 per bushel.
