Trump signs order to simplify funding of federal energy infrastructure, mineral projects
WASHINGTON, June 30 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday signed an executive order to streamline the process of applying for federal funding for energy infrastructure, critical mineral and material supply chain projects, saying it would enable the federal government to make quicker and better decisions.
"To maintain energy dominance, executive departments and agencies (agencies) must share information with one another when providing funding to energy infrastructure and critical mineral and material projects," the order said. "This will eliminate duplicative diligence processes and improve strategic investment."
The order calls for U.S. agencies and departments to develop within 180 days a common application for federal funding opportunities in the relevant sectors.
