US Cash Grains-Soybean basis bids steady to higher at river terminals

CHICAGO, June 26 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for soybeans were flat to up at river terminals in the U.S. Midwest on Thursday, as futures ticked down.

• The soybean basis gained strength at river terminals in Davenport, Iowa, and Morris, Illinois, as well as an elevator in Council Bluffs.

• The corn basis fell at rail terminals in Evansville, Indiana, and Columbus, Ohio.

• U.S. soybean and corn futures fell on beneficial weather and ample supplies. GRA/

• Widespread rain is expected to lead to continuing improvements in soil moisture in corn and soybean growing areas of the Midwest this week, according to forecaster Vaisala.

• CBOT August soybeans SQ25 ended 1-3/4 cents lower at $10.27-3/4 a bushel.

• CBOT September corn CU25 settled 1 cent lower at $4.04 per bushel.
