ReutersJun 16, 2025 1:08 PM

- The following are U.S. expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CDT (1330 GMT) on Monday:

WHEAT - Down 7 to 8 cents per bushel

  • CBOT wheat fell on harvest pressure as the winter wheat harvest in the U.S. accelerated.

  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture will report harvest progress on Monday afternoon.

  • Excess dryness has lingered in the wheat crop in Europe and the Black Sea.

  • CBOT July soft red winter wheat WN25 was last down 8-1/4 cents to $5.35-1/2 per bushel. K.C. July hard red winter wheat KWN25 was last down 6-1/2 cents to $5.34-1/4 per bushel, and Minneapolis July spring wheat MWEN25 lost 4-1/4 cents to $6.30 per bushel.

CORN - Down 5 to 6 cents per bushel

  • CBOT corn fell on good growing conditions for the crop in the U.S. Midwest, where heat is easing and rains are expected.

  • Analysts said the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's new biofuels proposal would have little impact on demand for corn-based ethanol, given that the government left its proposed volume requirements for conventional ethanol unchanged for 2026 and 2027.

  • Farmers in Brazil's key center-south region had harvested 5.2% of their 2025 second corn crop as of last Thursday, up from 1.9% the previous week and below the 21% reported a year earlier, agribusiness consultancy AgRural said on Monday.

  • CBOT July corn CN25 fell 6 cents to $4.38-1/2 per bushel.

SOYBEANS - Up 4 to 6 cents per bushel

  • CBOT soybeans Sv1 ticked higher on rising soyoil futures, which were supported by U.S. biofuel blending proposals that are likely to increase demand.

  • Soyoil, a key feedstock for biodiesel fuel, gained support after the EPA proposed last Friday to increase the amount of biofuels that oil refiners must blend into the nation's fuel mix over the next two years. The proposal exceeded trade expectations.

  • July soybeans SN25 were last up 4-1/4 cents at $10.74 per bushel.
