LONDON, May 8 (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Thursday that the trade deal struck between the U.S. and the UK delivers on promise to protect the country's carmakers and steel sector.

"I promised to protect British car makers and save our steel," Starmer said on X. "This deal delivers on that promise. And British workers, families, and firms will feel the benefit."
