WASHINGTON, May 8 (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said a new U.S.-British deal announced on Thursday would boost trade and create jobs, adding that the timing could not be better.
"Really important deal. This is going to boost trade between and across our countries. It's going to not only protect jobs, but create jobs, opening market access," Starmer said over the phone to U.S. President Donald Trump at a Washington event where the deal was announced.
"The timing couldn't be more apt," Starmer said.
