CHICAGO, April 16 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures ticked higher on Wednesday on support from a weaker dollar and excess rain for the spring wheat crop in the U.S. Midwest.
CBOT May soft red winter wheat WK25 settled up 5-3/4 cents to $5.47-3/4 per bushel.
K.C. May hard red winter wheat KWK25 ended up 5 cents to $5.58 a bushel and Minneapolis May spring wheat MWEK25 rose 2-1/2 cents to settle at $6.03-3/4 a bushel.
Rain has drenched spring wheat in the Midwest, counterbalancing pressure from weather forecasts predicting much-needed rain in the coming days to the hard red winter wheat crop in the U.S. Plains.
In Argentina, the 2025-26 wheat harvest is set to grow 10.2% versus a year earlier, according to the Buenos Aires grains exchange.
The dollar resumed its descent as a new bout of tariff-induced jitters gripped markets.
A weaker dollar makes U.S. exports more competitive on the global market.
