OTTAWA, April 8 (Reuters) - The decision by the United States to impose higher tariffs on imports of Canadian softwood lumber is unjustified, unwarranted and fundamentally misguided, Prime Minister Mark Carney said on Tuesday.
"Canadian softwood lumber is integral to building homes across the United States and the U.S. tariffs will only increase the cost of materials for American builders," he told a televised press conference in British Columbia.
