Trump says market response to tariffs was expected

ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE, April 3 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday the market slide due to his decision to impose tariffs was expected and the step was needed to heal the economy, which he called a sick patient.
Trump also said he was open to tariff negotiations if other countries offered something "phenomenal."
