CBOT Trends-Soy down 22-24 cents, corn down 5-7 cents, wheat down 8-10 cents

- Following are U.S. expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CDT (1330 GMT) on Thursday.

WHEAT - Down 8 to 10 cents per bushel

Wheat futures head lower following broad declines in commodities and equities on fears new U.S. tariffs could trigger retaliatory measures against U.S. exports.

Losses limited somewhat by a steep drop in the dollar .DXY, which tends to make U.S. goods more competitive globally. MKTS/GLOB

The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported export sales of U.S. old-crop wheat in the week ended March 27 at 340,000 metric tons, above a range of trade expectations, and weekly sales of new-crop wheat at 95,200 tons, in line with expectations. EXP/WHE

CBOT May soft red winter wheat WK25 was last down 9-1/4 cents at $5.30 per bushel. K.C. May hard red winter wheat KWK25 was last down 6 cents at $5.62-1/2 a bushel and Minneapolis May spring wheat MWEK25 was last down 4-1/2 cents at $5.88 a bushel.

CORN - Down 5 to 7 cents per bushel

Corn futures slide, joining broad declines in commodities and equities in the wake of U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of sweeping tariffs. A drop in the dollar .DXY lends light underlying support.

The USDA reported export sales of U.S. old-crop corn in the week ended March 27 at 1,173,200 metric tons, above a range of trade expectations. EXP/CORN

Rains this week slow early corn planting in the eastern Midwest but add beneficial soil moisture.

CBOT May corn CK25 was last down 7-1/2 cents at $4.50-1/4 per bushel.

SOYBEANS - Down 22 to 24 cents per bushel

Soybean futures tumble along with most other commodities and equities on worries of a widening trade war and stalling global economic growth.

Several CBOT soymeal futures contracts 0#SM: fell to life-of-contract lows in early moves.

The USDA reported export sales of U.S. old-crop soybeans in the week ended March 27 at 410,200 metric tons, in line with trade expectations for 250,000 to 800,000 tons. EXP/SOY

CBOT May soybeans SK25 were last down 22 cents at $10.07-1/2 per bushel.
