- Nordic front-quarter prices eased on Monday, pressured by windy weather and falling German power market rates.

The Nordic front-quarter baseload power contract ENOFBLQc1 eased 0.05 euros or 0.22% to 22.5 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) as of 1052 GMT.

The Nordic front-year contract ENOFBLYc1 was steady at 36 euros per MWh.

"It looks windy for the start of April and also the German (market rates) are dropping a bit," which is affecting the Nordic markets, said Stefan Barkholt Ovesen, head of power trading curve at Norlys Energy Trading.

German year-ahead power TRDEBYc1 fell 0.65 euros to 83.6 euros per MWh.

"High pressure over continental Europe and southern Scandinavia will dominate the weather through the rest of this week, (with) the weekend and next week being generally colder and also potentially more unsettled with occasional precipitation," said LSEG meteorologist Georg Muller.

Nordic water reserves available 15 days ahead PCAEC00 were seen at 10.44 terawatt hours (TWh) above normal, compared with 10.62 TWh on Friday.

Dutch and British wholesale gas prices were a touch higher on Monday morning but is set to see more volatility this week as milder weather is offset by the need to refill storages while peace in Ukraine remains elusive. NG/EU

In the European carbon market, the benchmark contract CFI2Zc1 fell 1.5 euros to 67.3 euros a tonne.

The Nordic power price for next-day physical delivery FXSYSAL=NPX, or system price, fell 22.26 euros to 38.76 euros per MWh.
