HOUSTON, March 26 (Reuters) - Motiva Enterprises is preparing a second attempt to restart the gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracker-3 (FCC-3) at its 626,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) Port Arthur, Texas refinery, people familiar with plant operations said on Wednesday.
The 81,000-bpd FCC-3 and the 18,000-bpd akylation unit were shut on January 28 for a planned overhaul expected to last two months. Motiva attempted to restart FCC-3 over the weekend, but seals on the unit failed, requiring their replacement, the sources said.
