CHICAGO, March 26 (Reuters) - Following are U.S. expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CDT (1330 GMT) on Wednesday.
WHEAT - Down 1 to 2 cents per bushel
Wheat futures ticked down on the prospect of a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, as well as favorable weather in the Black Sea region.
The Kremlin said on Wednesday that a number of conditions must be met before a Black Sea maritime security deal negotiated with the United States can be activated, pointing to an earlier agreement which it said saw Moscow's needs ignored.
The U.S. on Tuesday reached separate deals with Ukraine and Russia to secure safe navigation of the Black Sea, which would pave the way for more secure shipping of wheat exports from Ukraine and Russia.
CBOT May soft red winter wheat futures WK25 were last down 1-3/4 cents to $5.41-1/2 per bushel. K.C. May hard red winter wheat KWK25 was last down 1-1/2 cents to $5.67-3/4 per bushel, and Minneapolis May spring wheat MWEK25 was last down 1/4 cent to $5.88-1/4 per bushel.
CORN - Down 1 cent to up 1 cent per bushel
Corn futures edged up as traders adjusted positions ahead of next week's U.S. Department of Agriculture's March stocks and acreage report as well as the start of reciprocal tariffs on April 2.
Trading volume has been thin as uncertainty ahead of major USDA reports and the implementation of tariffs created a risk-off environment.
Analysts estimate quarterly grain stocks for corn as of March 1, 2025, will come in at 8.151 billion bushels, which would be down 2.4% from 2024.
CBOT May corn CK25 was last up 1 cent at $4.58-3/4 per bushel.
SOYBEANS - Up 2 to 3 cents per bushel
Soybeans futures seesawed amid concerns over U.S. tariffs potentially reducing farm exports, while large harvests in key exporters Brazil and Argentina continued to weigh.
For soybeans, the average March 1 stocks estimate of 1.901 billion bushels would represent a three-year high, up 3.0% from 2024.
CBOT May soybeans SK25 were last up 3 cents to $10.04-3/4 per bushel.
