US Cash Grains-Corn basis bids rise at some elevators, processors

CHICAGO, March 13 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for U.S. corn were stronger at some elevators and processors in the Midwest on Thursday, dealers said.

Grain buyers are raising bids to incentivize farmers to increase crop sales, dealers said, after growers resisted sales as they wait for higher prices and the spring planting season.

Dryness eased in the U.S. Midwest ahead of plantings. About 39% of the region was suffering from some form of drought as of March 11, down from about 43% a week earlier, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.

Chicago Board of Trade May corn futures CK25 were up 5-1/2 cents at $4.66-1/4 per bushel at 12:10 p.m. CDT (1710 GMT). CBOT May soybeans SK25 jumped 13-1/4 cents to $10.13-3/4 a bushel.
