EU trade chief aims to speak with U.S. counterparts on tariffs, says EU Commission

BRUSSELS, March 13 (Reuters) - EU trade chief Maros Sefcovic aims to speak with his U.S. counterparts after the United States imposed steel and aluminium tariffs and the European Union announced plans to retaliate on Wednesday.
"Commissioner Sefcovic reached out to his American counterparts immediately after the announcements yesterday, and calls are being prepared," the Commission said on Thursday.
