CERAWEEK-Alberta energy minister says he proposed trade de-escalation options to US

HOUSTON, March 11 (Reuters) - Alberta Energy Minister Brian Jean said on Tuesday he had provided the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump several options to de-escalate a U.S.-Canada trade war.
He said his provincial government, which represents the bulk of Canada's oil industry, respected Ontario's decision to impose retaliatory tariffs on its electricity exports to the United States, but was taking a different approach to try to ease tensions.
