WASHINGTON, March 10 (Reuters) - U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy rescinded two memos on Monday issued during the Biden Administration that encouraged states to address how climate change and equity impacts infrastructure projects.
Duffy said the memos were in conflict with the intent of Congress in passing the $1 trillion 2021 infrastructure law.
One memo said states should prioritize "infrastructure that is less vulnerable and more resilient to a changing climate and accommodate technologies like EV charging stations, renewable energy generation, and broadband deployment in transportation rights of way."
