Trump: Canadian retaliatory tariffs will face immediate reciprocal tariffs

March 4 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said that retaliatory tariffs imposed by Canada will be met with immediate reciprocal tariffs in the same amount, after remarks by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that Canada would strike back at American tariffs imposed overnight.

"Please explain to Governor Trudeau, of Canada, that when he puts on a Retaliatory Tariff on the U.S., our Reciprocal Tariff will immediately increase by a like amount!" Trump wrote in a post on his private social media platform on Tuesday.
