SANTIAGO, Feb 26 (Reuters) - Chile's foreign ministry said on Wednesday that it is "monitoring" a U.S. probe looking into potential new tariffs on imports of copper, a metal critical to electric vehicles, military hardware, the power grid and many consumer goods.
The Andean country is the world's largest copper producer and the top supplier of copper to the United States. The country's foreign trade relations sub-secretariat told Reuters the government was watching the situation.
