Japan steel industry head: concerned protectionism will lead to market downturn

TOKYO, Feb 25 (Reuters) - Japan Iron and Steel Federation Chairman Tadashi Imai said on Tuesday the spread of protectionism has raised concerns it will contribute to a downturn in the global steel market.
The comment from Imai, who is also the president of Nippon Steel 5401.T, comes after U.S. President Donald Trump said this month he was going to put tariffs on imports of all steel and aluminum.
