Med crude-Urals diffs stable, Syzran refinery suspends operations after drone attack

ReutersFeb 19, 2025 6:13 PM

- Urals crude differentials to dated Brent were unchanged on Wednesday, while Rosneft's Syzran refinery in Samara region suspended operations following a drone attack, two sources told Reuters.

Syzran oil refinery, with a capacity of 150,000 barrels per day, suspended oil processing on Wednesday due to a fire at the primary unit (CDU-6) following an attack by a Ukrainian drone.

The Syzran Oil Refinery is part of the Rosneft group of Samara refineries, which also includes the Novokuibyshevsky and Kuibyshevsky plants.

Lower refinery throughput may result in more crude oil available for exports and revisions to loading plans.

Traders tried to estimate March export volumes for Russian Urals oil, but the figures were yet to emerge.
