German union calls one-day public transport strike in six states on Friday

BERLIN, Feb 19 (Reuters) - Germany's public sector Verdi union has called a one-day strike on local public transport in six of Germany's 16 federal states for Friday to increase the pressure in wage talks.
The union said on Wednesday it will target the states of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Bremen, Hessen, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate.
Strikes in Berlin already start Thursday and continue through Friday, Verdi said earlier this week.
