Westfield Specialty adds Allied World's Beaumont to cargo team

Jan 30 - (The Insurer) - Westfield Specialty has continued its run of recent appointments with the hire of Ben Beaumont as a cargo underwriter.

Based in London, Beaumont reports to Matt Jenkins, class underwriter, cargo at Westfield Specialty.

Beaumont joins Westfeild after six years at Allied World, including four years in the cargo underwriting team.

Commenting on the appointment, Jon Hamilton, head of marine and energy at Westfield Specialty International, said: “This is the first of several additions that we are making to our marine team this year as we expand our leadership and influence in the marine market.

“Ben arrives with diverse experience in the industry across both underwriting and claims roles. Earlier this month, Westfield Specialty named former Argo Group executive Steven Boughal as CUO for management liability. It also expanded its professional indemnity team with the appointments of Craig Nugent and Joseph Beltran from Sompo International and Optio Group, respectively.
