US Plains HRW Wheat-Basis bids flat on an active day for farmer selling

ReutersJan 17, 2025 6:34 PM

- Basis bids for hard red winter wheat were unchanged in a spot check of locations in the U.S. Plains on Friday with busy farmer selling, according to dealers.

Merchants said farmers continued to be engaged after a week of trade picking up steam as futures rose.

The Chicago Board of Trade K.C. March wheat contract KWH25 ticked up 2-1/2 cents at $5.40 per bushel at 12:18 p.m. CST (1818 GMT).

A lack of snow cover may allow some winterkill for wheat in the U.S. Plains next week, according to Maxar.
