UK Stocks-Factors to watch on May 13

- Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Wednesday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.6%.

BP: BP said it has acquired a 40% participating interest in a production sharing agreement covering six oil and gas exploration blocks in the Ustyurt region of Uzbekistan.

GAMMA COMMUNICATIONS: Gamma Communications GAMA.L said that private equity firm Providence Equity Partners is among parties in discussions with the company for a potential takeover.

TP ICAP: TP ICAP TCAPI.L reported a 13% rise in first-quarter revenue as Iran war-driven volatility boosted trading activity on its platform.

BABCOCK: Babcock BAB.L said it expects to incur a 140-million-pound charge on its Type 31 frigate contract due to higher-than-expected rework costs, though it kept its fiscal 2027 outlook unchanged.

VISTRY: Vistry VTYV.L said it expects first-half profit to be significantly lower than the last year and paused its share buyback programme.

VERTU MOTORS: Vertu Motors VTU.L warned that a prolonged Iran war could drive up vehicle prices and dampen consumer sentiment further, although it has not yet seen any direct impact.

SAVILLS: Savills SVS.L said it expects a fall and a delay in advisory transactions, weighed down by macroeconomic uncertainty arising from the Middle East conflict.

CVS: CVS is facing pressure from activist hedge fund Converium Capital to improve its performance after competition regulators concluded a probe into high prices in the sector, the Financial Times reported.

RIO TINTO: The Rio Tinto RIO.L-backed Arctial aluminium smelter in Finland, which could help to boost capacity in Europe, is targeting first hot metal production in the second half of 2029, Arctial chief commercial officer Maxime Vandersmissen said.

COMMODITIES: Oil prices fell, copper advanced, and gold prices extended losses.
