May 12 (Reuters) - Wall Street's main indexes edged lower on Tuesday, with the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq pulling back from record highs after a hotter-than-expected inflation report and fading hopes for a swift resolution to the Middle East conflict. .N

At 11:30 EDT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was down 0.48% at 49,464.61. The S&P 500 .SPX was down 0.93% at 7,344.26, and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was down 1.65% at 25,840.21.
